How To Manage A Fat Loss Journey While On Vacation – Week 7

How do you manage your fat loss journey while on vacation? Being on vacation in the midst of a fat loss journey is a dilemma. After working hard and achieving positive results, later comes a vacation. Vacations present many challenges to a fat loss journey. During week 7 – May 07, 2018, of my fat loss journey, my journey confronted me with such a question.  After week 6 of my fat loss journey, I had a massive weight loss. I was ready for a vacation. How do you handle your fat loss journey while on vacation?

There is a cliché that says, “those who bend don’t break.” I decided before my vacation that I would have an excellent time. You can use your vacation as a reward for your hard work instead of using it as a challenge to your hard work. The expectation that you set for vacations, holidays, birthdays, and anniversaries will determine if you are successful or fail.

I did not place restrictions on my food, but I hit the treadmill and gym every morning. The goal was to have fun and be flexible. By doing this, you can re-energize for the rest of your fat loss journey. You can manage your fat loss journey and still have fun while on vacation.

How to handle your fat loss results from a vacation

Do not ignore the results of your vacation. Instead, set S.M.A.R.T. goals for your vacation time. I decided that it was okay for me to gain up to three pounds during my vacation. Your body will respond to food after there has been a calorie deficit for a prolonged time. Any calorie-surplus will replenish depleted fat reserves. Expect to gain weight but set a limit on how much weight is acceptable, when you manage your fat loss journey while on vacation, it is okay to gain a little weight.

It takes a 3500-calorie-surplus to gain one pound, so three pounds for me equaled 10,500 calorie-surplus during vacation. The 10,500 calories equaled a surplus of 1500 calories a day. I set my goal with exercise, NEAT activities, and my metabolism, I could eat around 4000 calories a day.

During week seven, I gained two pounds, but the fantastic news was that I walked away from my vacation feeling good about my vacation and fat loss journey. My vacation was a vacation, and after the rest and fun, my vacation energized me. The vacation enabled me to get back to my fat loss journey.

The results of my fat loss journey

After week seven, my waistline was 33 inches, and my weight was 177 pounds. My meals were 37% protein, 22% fat, and 41% carbohydrates. My fiber to carbohydrate ratio was 15%, and sugar to fiber ratio was 273%. I did not track my steps, my workouts, or overall calories.

I was on a cruise, so I enjoyed myself and had fun. The key to managing your fat loss journey is to be human and act with your long-term goals in mind. You need not lose weight every week to reach your goals. A weight-loss journey is a marathon, not a sprint. Pace yourself and have some fun along the way.
