High-fiber foods also take longer to digest than low-fiber foods, which keeps your blood sugar levels stable and prevents cravings for unhealthy snacks. Foods high in fiber include whole grains, fruits, vegetables, legumes (beans), nuts, and seeds.

Many people shy away from fats when trying to lose weight, but healthy fats are essential for optimal health and performance during a hardcore weight loss program.

Healthy fats provide energy and help with hormone production; they also help absorb vitamins A, D, and E found in other foods such as vegetables and fruits.
